Where Did the Quodoushka Workshops Come From?
In 1978, Harley SwiftDeer Reagan was studying to become a therapist in California. During a class on male orgasms, Reagan shared information from sexual teachings he had studied in the Twisted Hair lineage. Based on this experience, Reagan was asked to present to others studying to become doctors and counselors. This became the foundation of the Quodoushka Spiritual Sexuality workshop of today.
The Twisted Hair Metis Medicine Society Council of Elders oversees this body of teachings. They supported the development of these workshops, recognizing how urgently people need teachings of freedom and self-responsibility. Through such decisions, the Quodoushka teachings are a living tradition that continues to change and grow as people embrace it today.
The Chuluaqui Quodoushka teachings are one component of a much larger body of teachings called the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path. Much of the rich legacy of the Sweet Medicine Sundance Path and Quodoushka teachings come from an oral tradition of sharing the wheels, keys, practices, and wisdom from teacher to student.
The Deer Tribe Metis Medicine Society (DTMMS), the non-profit organizational face of the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, provides instructor training, upholds the high standards associated with these workshops, and ensures the continuing integrity of the Quodoushka teachings.

So many marriages and relationships fall apart because there is not a deep level of satisfaction, endearment and endurance. Until we can learn how to use our sexual soul force energy as a catalyst to increase the rate of our sensitivity and connection to life, the abyss of disappointment and disillusion will continue to destroy countless relationships. What’s needed is a more tolerant environment where people of all sexual persuasions feel freer to explore their naturalness.
It is our challenge and our responsibility in this lifetime to transcend mistakes of the past, for it is only through ignorance that we surrender our freedom. This is why it is so important to have a more empowered sexual education – not only through Quoodoushka – but through other teachings that encompass the spiritual aspects of our sexuality as well.
Repression is hazardous to humanity, because when you repress a persons’ sexuality you retard their maturity and destroy their soul. Religions and political structures around the world that restrict people from discovering their full potential as men and women thwart the evolution of humanity and make it impossible for people to discover who they really are. If you cannot fully express yourself and stand accountable for your actions you cannot find the fulfillment that every human being deserves.
